Hammocks HOA Meeting Minutes

Thank everyone for coming.

Summary of Hammocks HOA Projects Discussed:

  1. Signs to prevent pickup and drop off of students in place at all three entrances.
  2. Sprinklers are being maintained and tested by the President and Vice President due to cost associated with the previous company.
  3. The lights for the Hammocks entrance are new and are now LED lights. Last longer and cheaper to operate.
  4. Flower beds have grown in nicely and thank you to all who help maintain the beds
  5. Mowing and trimming is a major expense but necessary.
  6. Fence is completed. Now have a gate at the West end since the section was torn down numerous times. Will stain in early November once the fence has cured.
  7. Treasury Report Given. Fence fund generated just over 50% of the cost for the fence. Reserves are still around $10,000. Dues do not cover complete cost of maintenance and repairs. 71% of homeowners paid dues last year. $7,325.00 brought in by dues. Thanked the homeowners who paid additional funds toward dues.
  8. Discussed increasing dues. All in attendance agreed dues should be raised to $75 a year. Also agreed to start dues drive at the beginning to February vice January since some families may still be recovering from Christmas bills in January.
  9. Next project being explored is the pond South of Foxcroft Drive East, East of Hammock drive, and North of Spottswood Circle. Pond needs to be evaluated by professionals. Discussed placing a bench near the pond for all homeowners to utilize. The pond is home to an abundance of wildlife.
  10. Questions taken. One homeowner asked about sending letters out about parking on the street or in the grass. Courtesy letter. Asked about no soliciting in the Hammocks.
  11. President to retire in January of 2023. Joe Lopez to become President. Jil Prantner to become Vice President. Ivanna Downs to become Secretary. Treasurer position open.
